Children's and Young Adult Programming Adult Programs The Wood-Ridge Memorial Library would like to announce several cultural events that will be taking place in town for the month of February. All events are open to the public. On Thursday, February 18th, from 7pm-8pm, the Wood-Ridge Memorial Library will present “African Americans in Jazz”, a lecture by the international jazz musician, Don Carter. The lecture will take place in the Friends Reading Room of the Library and is free of charge. Refreshments will be provided. Mr. Carter is a music professor at St. Peter’s College in Jersey City. He has performed with many famous jazz performers, including Dizzy Gillespie and Pete Yellin. To register, please email Christina Park at christina@christinapark.com. On Tuesday, February 23rd at 7pm, the Wood-Ridge High School Music Recital will be held in the Wood-Ridge High School Auditorium. The concert will feature solo performances, group numbers, and instrumentals by WRHS students, teachers and Alumni. The charge is $5.00 at the door. Proceeds will be used to support the WRHS music department.
On Thursday, February 25th at 7pm, the Wood-Ridge Middle School Music Recital will also be held in the Wood-Ridge High School Auditorium, featuring solo and instrumental performances by students and faculty. The charge is $5.00 at the door.
Children’s Drumming Workshop at Wood-Ridge Memorial Library
The workshop will be taught by Don Carter, an internationally know jazz musician, and will be free of charge. Please register for this event by emailing Christina Park at christina.park@bccls.org.
